From the very start, Ji Su made the entire process so seamless and stress-free! Absolutely! Studios offer the benefit of no rain days, and shelter from the windy weather we often have in the Bay Area. Depending on your vision, I will recommend one or two studios for you to choose from. Having your session at a studio instead of an outdoor location is a flat fee on top of your package to cover the expenses, and from there I will handle the logistics.
I'm so glad you asked and yes absolutely I do! Photographing families in their home - where children are the most comfortable and have all of their favorite objects at their disposal - often lead to some of the most memorable photos. An in-home gallery will take you back to all of the things that make up this season of life.
Fear not, I have an Auntie Ji Su persona that I bring along for all the kids I photograph. I spend the first few minutes of every session getting down on their eye level, introducing myself, and asking them a few questions. I often encourage the kids to make a few small decisions for me, which helps them become more engaged and enthusiastic about the photoshoot. I also encourage sharing a photo of me (you can find one on my About page or on my Instagram) to introduce them to Auntie Ji Su and explain that I'll be taking photographs of them and their family.
I send my clients a detailed style guide, along with a Pinterest board with specific item links to make for easier shopping. Generally, I recommend avoiding busy patterns and loud logos that may date your photos. Layers, soft textures, and natural fabrics in neutral hues work as a wonderful foundation. You can also add pops of color with accessories. More than anything, I recommend choosing outfits that feel natural to you and that everyone feels comfortable in.
An outdoor or at-home family session begins at $1000.
Milestone packages (2-3 sessions) are also available, which can be convenient for multiple milestone sessions within a year (maternity + newborn + 6 months or 1 year). I will reach out to you to schedule your 2nd and 3rd sessions well in advance of my calendar filling up.

Reach out through my contact form here, or email me at jisu@sustudiophotography.com with your preferred dates, and a little bit about the kind of session you're envisioning. From there I will send you my family client guide, as well as a contract and invoice. A 50% retainer secures your date, with the remaining balance due before your session.
Once you've booked, we begin designing your session!
I will send you a questionnaire so that I can learn a bit more about your family's dynamic, gauge your location preferences, and understand what you want to remember most from this season of life. This way we ensure that your photos feel authentic to this stage in your family's journey.
I will also send you a comprehensive style guide, and you're always welcome to email me for a second opinion if you're between outfit options.
About 1 week before your session, I will send along a reminder email with clothing prep tips and any pointers specific to your chosen location.
You will receive your gallery in two weeks! You will receive a gallery in Pic-Time, a photo gallery platform, and from there you can download high resolution images as well as order prints through a connected print shop.
